Daily Habits of Wealthy People - 20 Insights From Rich People

I was reading an article from the Rich Habits Institute and I came across 20 daily habits that wealthy people perform day in day out. I saw an instant correlation between the daily habits outlined in the post and my own daily habits. The habits also show how the poor differ from the rich when it comes to every habit.

Seriously, if you want to get ahead in life check out the habits below and then incorporate all the daily habits of wealthy people into your life and see how much more you achieve. The habits from the Rich Habits Institute have been bolded with my own personal commentary below.
Habit 1:70% of wealthy eats less than 300 junk food calories per day. 97% of poor people eat more than 300 junk food calories per day. 23% of wealthy gamble. 52% of poor people gamble.

If you’re spending all your time filling your mouth how can you expect to get ahead in life? I see men who spend most of their time in bars complaining and blaming people for their bad lives. Stop putting all that crap in your mouth and start saving time and money by doing something productive instead.

Habit 2: 80% of wealthy are focused on accomplishing some single goal. Only 12% of the poor do this.

Wealthy people are relentless in when they want to achieve their goal. They are like lions just waiting to pounce on their prey. Poor people expect everything to fall into their lap by magic, if it doesn’t then they find someone to blame. Take responsibility and have at least one goal in your life and sprint towards it no matter what.

Habit 3: 76% of wealthy exercise aerobically four days a week. 23% of poor do this.

Exercise releases happy hormones and makes your brain and other vital organs work effectively and efficiently. This is why rich people can do twice the work in half the time compared to poor people. People who sit on the couch scrounging off the government are doing themselves a disservice. Get off your couch and get active so you have the energy to do something meaningful in life.

Habit 4: 63% of wealthy listen to audio books during commute to work vs. 5% of poor people.

Rich people are continually educating themselves and never waste a moment. Poor people think they’ll live forever and listen to music or play video games to pass time. If you’re scared of learning something new you’ll never get ahead in life and you’ll probably end up poor.

Habit 5: 81% of wealthy maintain a to-do list vs. 19% of poor.

Rich people never lose focus because they know exactly what they need to do. Poor people use their under-performing memory to remember things. If you don’t have your own to do list then you can be sure you’re working on someone else’s to-do list to so they get ahead. Don’t be the puppet in someone else’s game. Know what you want in life and go from pawn to king.

Habit 6: 63% of wealthy parents make their children read two or more non-fiction books a month vs. 3% of poor.

Rich people believe in education and take personal responsibility to make their children independent, confident and responsible people. Poor people exonerate themselves by diverting their responsibility to the government via state schools. This is why the cycle of poverty in certain families continues indefinitely. Get off your couch and teach your children something they can use in life.

Habit 7: 70% of wealthy parents make their children volunteer 10 hours or more a month vs. 3% of poor.

The rich realise that helping people who want to get ahead in life unleashes an abundance of creative energy which they use as fuel to achieve their goal. Poor people seldom volunteer because they don’t feel comfortable getting out of their miserable circle of poverty. By getting out and volunteer you release pride, self esteem, confidence, and other empowering emotions that help you to get ahead.

Habit 8: 80% of wealthy make Happy Birthday calls vs. 11% of poor.

Rich people know how to network and build meaningful and profitable relationship with other people. Poor people are only interested in their own instant gratification. Because poor people have no real connection to the outside world they remain poor until the day they die.

Habit 9: 67% of wealthy write down their goals vs. 17% of poor.

Poor people know exactly what they want and they write it down and then break it up into smaller pieces and pick it off one by one. Poor people expect other people to achieve their goals as they sit down with a beer to watch the ball game. Every person should know what they want in life and they should know how to get it.

Habit 10: 88% of wealthy read 30 minutes or more each day for education or career reasons vs. 2% of poor.

The rich are continually looking to get ahead and become experts in their field. Poor people don’t give a shit about education and look for quick ways to get ahead. These poor people are conned and deceived left right and center because they don’t know their left ear from their right ear hole.

Habit 11: 6% of wealthy say what’s on their mind vs. 69% of poor.

Poor people are always banging on about their past and future. All this talking makes the brain think they’ve already achieved what they want to achieve. Rich people don’t share their aspirations or goals with everyone until they’ve achieved what they set out to achieve. If you’re always banging on about your goals try shutting up and actually making some meaningful progress towards achieving what you set out to achieve.

Habit 12: 79% of wealthy network five hours or more each month vs. 16% of poor.

Rich people love networking with experts and mentors who can help them achieve their goal. Poor people avoid these mentors and experts and label them pretentious and avoid mingling in that circle because they are afraid. If you know someone whose achieved what you want to achieve then hang around these people because everything eventually rubs off.

Habit 13: 67% of wealthy watch one hour or less of TV every day vs. 23% of poor.

Rich people never demean themselves in front of a TV excessively. Poor people find comfort watching bad movies about the high life and driving fast cars on GTA. If these poor people would get off the couch and actually do something meaningful as opposed to relying on a virtual world for their kicks they would probably get ahead.

Habit 14: 6% of wealthy watch reality TV vs. 78% of poor.

When you’re life is not good you begin to watch other people’s lives. Poor people think they have meaningless lives which is why they enjoy watching reality TV. I know some people who watch contestants sleeping on Big Brother in the off chance that they’ll catch some saucy action. Rich people despise watching other people’s lives because they’re lives take priority.

Habit 15: 44% of wealthy wake up three hours before work starts vs. 3% of poor.

Rich wealthy people believe in preparedness and use their time effectively so they separate themselves from the competition. Poor people don’t give two hoots and turn up to the office late and then gossip near the water fountain. If you want to get ahead you need to separate yourself from these losers.

Habit 16: 74% of wealthy teach good daily success habits to their children vs. 1% of poor.

Rich people believe in the future of their children. Poor people have children so they can scrounge more welfare from the government (according to statistics). People need to remember that what they teach their children their children will teach to the world.

Habit 17: 84% of wealthy believe good habits create opportunity luck vs. 4% of poor.

Poor people expect opportunities to fall in their life while they coast through life! You get what you deserve in this life, if you coast you lose, if you strive you get ahead.

Habit 18: 76% of wealthy believe bad habits create detrimental luck vs. 9% of poor.

Rich people remove bad habits from their lives while poor people embrace it. This is why rich people are wealthier, healthier, have better relationships and command respect. Poor people are divorced, have heart problems and have children who are in therapy.

Habit 19: 86% of wealthy believe in lifelong educational self-improvement vs. 5% of poor.

Rich people stay ahead because they believe in self improvement; they have the paradigm in their mind that there’s always room to become better. A poor person’s education starts and stops at school which is why they have such a poor outlook in life. As a man you should continually strive to improve your mind, heart and body.

Habit 20: 86% of wealthy love to read vs. 26% of poor.

Rich people love to broaden their horizon and experience new things. Poor people are stuck in their ways recycle what they know over and over again to become experts of nothing.
